We Need to Talk About Movement.

Why Encouraging Everyday Exercise is More Urgent Than Ever.
In an era of AI, remote work, and food delivery apps, it’s never been easier to stay indoors. But that convenience comes at a cost.
A recent report by the World Health Organization warned that physical inactivity is now one of the leading risk factors for global mortality, contributing to more than 5 million deaths annually. Even just 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week—a brisk walk or a casual game of basketball—can significantly reduce risks of heart disease, diabetes, and depression (Harvard Health Publishing, 2022).
But it’s not just about preventing illness. Regular exercise improves mental clarity, fosters community, and boosts productivity. And yet, as per a 2023 study published in The Lancet Global Health, over 1 in 4 adults worldwide don’t get enough physical activity.
We don’t need everyone to become marathon runners. But we do need to make moving easier, social, and fun.
Let’s start small:
Say yes to a spontaneous game.
Walk to your café instead of ordering in.
Invite a colleague for a walking meeting.
